Shabeeg, a clothing line based in Yerevan, Armenia, was developed by founder and creative designer Mary Sukiasyan. Translating to "shirt" in English, Shabeeg's designs represent ancient and historical figures printed on t-shirts and other clothing items to introduce symbols of Armenian heritage to global tastemakers. Hand drawn by Sukiasyan and digitized by Armenian designers, the prints and embroideries in the collection draw from patterns and ornaments found on traditional Armenian clothing called "taraz" worn at the end of the 19th century. Shabeeg has made its mark on the international fashion world and has participated in Paris and New York Fashion Weeks, Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days, CPM Moscow, Pitti SUPER Milano, and Oriflame Fashion Weekend Yerevan.
